Countdown ...

Not sure that it's healthy to be counting down to a one week holiday more than seven weeks out ... I also think that the fact that the counter is for when I finish work a day and a half earlier rather than, say, when our flight leaves, possibly says a lot about where my head's at at the moment ... either way, it's fair to say that I am very much looking forward to the break (and yes, I've only been back from the last one for five weeks, it's just like that around here at the moment).

What are you looking forward to at the moment? Please share ...

    1. Oh wow! Nothing as exotic as that for us this time around, although hopefully in the not too distant future. We're off to Queenstown for a week so The Sparky can go skiing and I can veg out.

  2. What is it like to be so close (relatively speaking) to Antarctica? Is that a weird question? I was looking Queenstown up on a map, and saw how close you are as is, and felt the subsequent need to ask.

Queenstown looks like a lovely place. Wow, how bad do I want to go to New Zealand! So bad!

    1. Um, cold? Actually I suspect that Queenstown in Winter is going to teach me a lesson in cold that I won't soon forget, that lower end of NZ is so much closer to Antarctica than we are! It calls to me though, I'd love to go one day.

Oh you must, I'm sure you'd love it ... so, so much shubbery! But seriously, their native flora is beautiful. Plus, Queenstown is full of things like hikes and mountain biking (although I suspect I won't be engaging in much like that, have I mentioned yet that the ground will probably be covered in SNOW and it will be COLD?!).

    1. It now reads 3 days, 5 hours, 43 minutes, 28 seconds ... so close!

I know, I am a complete wuss when it comes to the cold! I don't plan on letting that stop me from experiencing a Canadian winter at some stage though.
