Sydney Snapshots

Monday morning four weeks ago we landed in Sydney, already relaxed from a week off and ready to enjoy our little holiday away.

Getting to The Rocks from the airport was nice, quick and easy and just a short walk later we were dropping our bags at our accommodation.

While our room was being cleaned we popped around the corner to La Renaissance for second breakfast/first lunch. I'm fairly sure that the food seemed nicer than it was because we were so hungry (not that it was bad per say), but the view was definitely nice -

Having oriented ourselves and then checked in, we headed out to take a look at the Bridge up close ...

... walked over and back again then climbed a bollard for a better view ...

... and not just of the Bridge.

It had some pretty cool stuff going on inside too.

From there we walked all the way around to The Star in Pyrmont (a short 2.8 km) where we had second lunch and afternoon tea.

Starting with burgers from a place that I remember having read about but can't for the life of me find now. Burger was good, chips were good, sharing was a really smart idea because ...

... with a coffee of course, and then ...

Okay, so I failed a little in the photo taking but we were really enjoying being slightly switched off.

We were kinda rolling by this point and it was a pretty good thing we had to walk back as well.

It was a lovely day and a wonderful start to our holiday, thankfully there was still more to come ...

    1. VERY food filled ... it really was a good thing there was so much walking (and so many steps at the Bridge!) :)

  2. Love all these second breakfasts and lunches, sounds like my kind of dining!

I wish that my first thought when seeing your bridge photos had not been "I wonder if they walked where Mary Kate and Ashley walked in Our Lips Are Sealed?" I'm sorry:)

Zumbarons look futuristic! I would so love to have a macaron or two right not. What is Messina? Is that a placemat? Door plaque? Mouse pad? Do tell!

    1. Noooooo ... how could you MK&A my holiday !? Okay, apology accepted :)

Oooops, I didn't realise I'd left Messina hanging like that ... that is their business card and we ate lovely, lovely gelato from them.

  4. When I go to Sydney it's a non stop eating fest. Hence why I haven't been back for at least a year! haha

    1. I can understand how that happens ... our conversations about returning have all been about the places we need to eat next time, not about anything we want to see or experience!

  5. Hi Karen! How are you?! So nice to see that you've had a holiday! Hope you had fun in Sydney and are doing well! I just love Adriano Zumbos! Still the best macarons I've ever tasted! xx

    1. Hiya Ali! I was actually thinking about emailing you the other day to see how things are going.

We had some macarons in the City the other day and both commented that they were okay but no Zumbos :)

It is always about the food when we go to Sydney too.
Did you read about the burgers on my blog? ;-)

    1. Yes, finally, I have my first two up ... at least one to go :)

I'm going to have to go back through your Sydney posts to see if that is where the burgers were!
