Thankfully we have a comfy car and the drive was quite nice too, we had been a bit worried that it would be flat and boring but it really was quite beautiful.
The email was the first thing I saw this morning, no spam for it! :)
What is Echuca? It looks really neat, I love historical relics and all that jazz! Even something as simple as finding an old glass bottle in the woods (which I did yesterday) gets me super pumped:)
Oh no Emma, sorry! I had been working on a wordy post explaining where Echuca is and what its history is and then I got all excited about trying out the photo book style layout and forgot all about it! Echuca is a historic port town on the Murray River which runs along the border of Victoria and New South Wales. We weren't quite sure what to expect but the historic side of it really was quite interesting and fun.
I remember going to Echuca a couple of years aog and I had just got my new car omg such a drive to and from but we had fun :) Seems like not much has changed there and you had a nice day :)
They're actually in the process of a big bucks development of the dock area. I hadn't been there before but it looked pretty impressive. I will be looking into heading back once the development is finished ... maybe even stay over night this time :)
It's a nice little town and I'm sure with more than a few more hours we would have found a lot more to do too ... and had a chance to try some more of their nice looking cafes :)
Unfortunately The Sparky has been working a lot of Saturday's lately so the day trips have stopped for the moment. Hopefully they'll be back on again soon though, we were definitely hooked :)
It's nothing on the travel stories I read around and about the place but it was quite lovely. I'm glad the lay out worked, I think I'll have to try it again :)
Very cool! I love a good Saturday day trip; it makes the weekend feel like a mini holiday!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to be able to do it without any thought of having this or that at home not getting do too.
DeleteEchuca AND BACK in one day? kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteYep, we've decided there's very little of Victoria that we can't see in a day trip now :)
DeleteOh my gosh, I can't believe you went to Echuca and back in one day! That is quite the day trip. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso - I have emailed you - if you don't see it, please check your spam. :)
